Scottish Collie Club Championship Show
May 2016
Best in Show
I was pleased to judge BIS, RBIS, BPIS & Best Veteran at the Scottish Collie Club Ch Show held on Saturday 21st May 2016 at the Larkhall Leisure Centre.
Best in Show - Blake’s Demelewis Catch The Breeze For Corydon. Mature 5-year-old feminine tri B of correct overall breed type. Well presented in good coat and condition. Correct balance of body length to height. Difficult to fault her. Moved soundly and showed well.
Reserve Best in Show - Congdon’s Monsolana Sundevon For Aaronwell (IMP RUS). Four-year-old S/W D with imposing ring presence, again shown in good coat and condition. He appeared more than happy to stand and show all day long. Not just the breed type of the BIS and his head qualities did not quite equal hers. Whilst he also covered the ground well enough on the move once again the BIS just had the edge on this - but no disgrace to him and I placed him RBIS over the RBCC winner
Best Puppy in Show - Blakie’s Kourika Kosta Koffee. 9-month-old tri D. Well on for his age and another born showman who stood, moved and showed to perfection. Profuse coat for one so young. Good body feet and legs. Promising head properties. Should have a very fulfilling show career.
Best Veteran in Show - Grainger & Mitchells 8-year-old S/W B Ch Samhaven Classical Music JW ShCM. Indeed, a classical collie in all respects with all the correct head qualities for the breed together with sound construction correctly proportioned length to height and a coat that fits her body. She moved soundly and with precision and was more than happy to show herself off. A true and worthy champion – but bad luck to the BVD who had to come up against her and no disgrace to him to be beaten by this exhibit.
