Scottish Collie Club Championship Show
Sunday 7th November 2021


After several cancellations and re locations (all due to Covid restrictions) it was my absolute pleasure to judges the Bitches at this well run friendly show.
Many congratulations to the hard working secretary and her committee for securing this venue at the last minute and making everyone so welcome. Also thankyou to the BIS judge Ms Lyn Maxwell (Aintshe) for agreeing with my placements.

A quality entry of bitches 49/54. 5 champions in open Bitch meant I was splitting hairs between placements but Ch. Jopium Loveheart JW ShCm Could not be denied her 6th CC in such a quality line up. Also BIS

BVB & BVIS Telforth Sweet Dreams to Corisian ( also RBIS) moved out as if she were a juvenile.
BPB &BPIS Gataj Good Time Girl - was a delight to handle and shows much future promise.

Overall the presentation was excellent and my hands were almost as clean at the end as when I started. Teeth cleaning should not be overlooked however movement on the whole was good - especially in the higher classes. Puppies can be forgiven - especially after this last year or so.

Minor Puppy Bitch (2)1
1 Shaw’s Nithview Summer Blossom - 8 mths old. was unhappy with her surroundings but after the year of covid and restricted socialisation- was understandable. She was handled sympathetically and gained enough confidence to walk towards me. A pretty puppy who needs time on her side. Keep persevering.

Puppy Bitch 5
1 Lockyer's Good Time Girl -What a cracker! Gave her brother BPD at a previous show and she’s of the same quality. 11 mths. Lovely head ,sweet eye and expression. Neat well set ears. Lovely reach of neck, good front assembly and rear angulation.Well presented as always from this kennel. Moved out with power and confidence. BPB, BPIS
2 Walker’s Beldones Just For Fun - Pleasing head and dark sweet eye, neat ears and when used gave a lovely expression. Head handles well. Good reach of neck , well angulated. Moved well.

Junior Bitch 1
1 Mitchell’s Denfris Rocco Barocco For Avonfair - if there was a prize for ‘one the judge would most like to take home’ she would have won it. Stood alone but her quality shone out. Loved everything about her and now I’ve read her breeding can understand why.
At 17 mths She still needs to mature and finish and then she’ll trouble the best. I’ll follow her career with interest.

Yearling Bitch 4(2)
1 Edward’s Paulara Lucy in The Sky for Elshajo - 20 mth tri. Presented in gleaming well groomed coat. Nice clean head, dark almond shaped eye and neat ears which she used to advantage . Good construction with enough angulation. When moving kept a level top line but would prefer a bit more rear drive.
2 Kerr’s Nithview Castle Black at Lynlou - 21 mth old pretty tri colour. Nice head and eye placement. Well placed shoulders and enough length of back. Just a bit more hesitant in movement than 1 .


Maiden Bitch 4(1)
1 Walker’s Starlenga All About Me - Beautifully presented 2 yr old bitch. Confident,outgoing and attentive to her handler. jet black coat of correct texture with gleaming whites. Well moulded foreface and nice flat skull. Length to height ratio good with enough bone and neat feet. Moved briskly with rear drive.
2 Tipper’s Revdvicki Tahitian Pearl At Tiganlea - Pretty 9 mth old tri with lovely head properties and neat well set on ears.Good length of neck and balanced body shape. Well presented but preferred the rear movement of 1

Novice Bitch 3
1 Hutching’s Riverside Song Flor D’Luna At Sottyre - 2 yrs old. Attractive wealth of silvery clear b/m coat in good condition .Nice head and eye but seemed a bit on edge which made her tuck her neck in. Good length of back and tail. Good movement front and rear.
2 Taylor’s Elshajo As If By Magic - 3rd in previous classes and not at all happy with her surroundings. Understandable given the past year. Handler was patient and reassuring and by this class she was slightly happier in her movement. A pretty girl and at 11 mths she has time on her side to get the confidence she needs.
3 Clark Kerr ‘s Uffspring Uniquely Mayd

Graduate Bitch 6(2)
1 Brightmore’s Millubie Rewind (Imp Serb) - 18 mth old tri. Beautifully presented with the darkest of black and good rich tan. Head handles so well with nice flat skull and sweetest of expressions. She used her ears so well. Strong well arched neck going into good shoulder placement presenting a well balanced outline when standing. Very attentive to handler and moved out with perfect synchronicity. Another one whose career I’ll follow with interest.
2 Quince’s Thistlewing Celtic Soul for Karafaye - 2 yr old Quality sable of different type to 1 but not to be overlooked. Balanced throughout. Coat of harsh texture which fitted her well toned body shape. Good bone and bend of stifle meant she strode out ready for a good day’s work. Gave 100% to her handler. I’m sure her day will come.

Post Graduate Bitch 7(2)
1 Hodge’s Jopium Loves to Sparkle With Meryctin - What a lovely 3 yr old s/w bitch. Just like her Mum well balanced throughout. Lovely head with flat skull, dark eye and well filled foreface. Correct stop and good underjaw that all combined to give a kind, intelligent expression. Good reach of neck, correct shoulder placement and bend of stifle. Lovely rounded bone and neat feet which meant she covered the ground with ease.
2 Brooker’s Paris Venice Du Bois Amazon’s For Corisian (Imp Fra) JW.
Beautiful darkG/S - 3 yrs .well moulded and balanced head, super dark obliquely set eye shape and placement. Neat ear set and placement. Good depth of chest with well sprung ribs, She was well angulated throughout, good length of body with a slight rise over the loins, lovely shape and covered the ground well.

3 Tipper’s Tiganlea Too Good To Be True

Limit Bitch 11(1). A strong class with several lovely bitches placed further down the line.
1 Beare’s Jemspark Maid In Secret - 5 yrs old and now in her prime. Well put together s/w. She has an elegant well balanced outline with good length of neck and sound shoulder placement. Lean head with correct stop and eye placement. Well filled foreface. Soundly put together and covered the ground with long flowing strides. One of the best movers here today.
2 Ware’s Kinda Magic Della Buca Della Fate at Wassail. Feminine 3 1/2 yrs old tri with a wealth of lovely jet black coat. Neat correctly placed ears which she used well. Lovely arch shape to her neck leading into good well placed shoulders. Enough length of back with slight rise above the loin. Neat well let down hocks. Well presented and moved with Drive.

Open Bitch 8(1) A fabulous class with 4 beautiful champions present in the line up and not enough red cards.
1 Hodge’s Ch Jopium Love heart JW ShCm - what can be written that hasn’t already been written and said about this lovely girl! I could recite the breed standard but one word sums her up - Balance. At 6 yrs old Everything is as and where it should be and with beautiful flowing lines she was such a pleasure to go over. A born show girl - who knew how to show herself off to the best advantage from every angle. Her movement was such that she could have carried a carton of eggs on her back so smoothly and effortlessly did she power around that ring. I have never seen this exhibitors dogs to be shown in anything less than perfect condition with every hair groomed to perfection and today was no exception. A worthy CC winner ( her 6th I was told) and so pleased that the BIS judge agreed with my decision. BCC, BIS
2 Lockyer’s Ch Paradise GirlDu Clos De Seawind For Gataj (Imp Fra) - Another lovely Champion unlucky to meet 1. Lovely head ,eye and expression. First class well groomed coat as always from this kennel. Spot on for type and size. Another good mover who strode out confidently showing her rear pads. Very attentive to handlers.

Veteran Bitch 2(1)
1 Telforth Sweet Dreams For Corisian JW -An old favourite of mine and at 81/2 years old she still had the drive and movement that outdid many of the youngsters here today that were half her age! Her head still handled so smoothly with no signs of age or coarseness and her teeth were clean with complete dentition . Her expression certainly was dreamy. So responsive to her handler she did all that was asked of her and certainly deserved her wins here today. All credit to her owners. Res CC, RBIS, BVIS
